Welcome to Toddler Jam
Toddler Jam is run by Maida Vale Baptist Church and links with other Toddler Jams across Western Australia. We run from 9.30am to 11am each Wednesday during school term.
The cost is $5 per family per session.
Little feet are precious so we ask everyone to take off their shoes.
We start with our welcome song, have about 40 minutes of music, singing, dancing and a story.
Morning tea for Jammers is next and parents assist their children. Please bring your child’s own drink bottle. During morning tea, leaders set up toys for free play.
While children are involved in free play, parents have your own special time for morning tea when you can catch up with other parents and grandparents. Please refrain from giving this to your children.
We suggest that your child may take 2-3 weeks to feel confident enough to join in.
We would love it if you could treat Toddler Jam as your community. Help is always appreciated with handing out equipment, and cleaning up afterwards. Robyn and Rob are employed by Maida Vale Baptist Church but the remainder of our leaders are volunteers. If you would like to become one of our volunteers, wear a blue shirt and help out regularly, please see one of the leaders.
The safety and well-being of your child is our priority, but duty of care is still your responsibility.
Get involved in the music session! Children are natural and gifted imitators. If we model enthusiasm, participation and good manners they will follow. If your child is too young to move on their own, he/she will love to be held while you wiggle and sway to the music.
Please refrain from chatting during the music session. However, go for it during morning tea!
Refrain from giving food to your Jammers during the music session. Please keep food till morning tea time. That would be AWESOME! Please do not bring any peanuts/tree nuts to Toddler Jam.
We have good quality coffee, chocolate and chai from our coffee machine and your use of the honour box helps us to provide this service.
Free play is a great time to interact with your children but for everyone’s safety don’t bring hot drinks with you into the play area.
If you think your child may have an infectious illness please wait till they are well again until coming to Toddler Jam.
Aim to encourage one another as parents. Parenting of young children is not without trials. Let’s look after each other.
When you hear the “pack away” song please help your child to pack away the toys.
If you know you will be absent for a period of more than 3 weeks please let us know. If you do not wish to hold your place at Toddler Jam please let us know so we can offer the place to families on the waitlist.
Our aim at Toddler Jam is to create an environment where children can participate in a group setting to share in the wonder of music, where they can learn about concepts such as colours, animals, counting, sequencing and direction. We often incorporate Christian themes in our songs and stories. We hope to help prepare your child for their future school life by stimulating their intellectual, emotional and social growth through music appreciation. Our other aim is to give everyone a smiling face, including you!
