Due to the current situation with COVID 19 (Corona Virus), most of our activities including the Sunday morning service are now in recess until further notice.
Welcome to Maida Vale Baptist Church.
There are a number of ways you may wish to connect with Maida Vale Baptist Church. If you come to our worship service on Sunday morning there are some things you may want to know. We have a small car park at the front but that may be full, so if you go to the western side of the church, there is a large grassed area where you can park safely.
Our Sunday morning service starts at 9.30am and is usually finished soon after 10.30am after which there is a time when you can join others informally in a cup of tea or coffee. Our services vary from week to week because we have different people leading them but they follow a fairly traditional format. Sometimes we have a band and at other times just a few instruments. We sing with the words to the songs on the screen. There is always a message based on the Bible that usually last about 20 minutes, usually taken by our Pastor, Rob Douglas. We encourage children to be a part of the service, and include a children's segment each week. There is a place at the back of the auditorium where children can play during the service. Each week an offering is taken up at the service to help cover costs.
This style of service doesn't always suit families, so once a month we run Messy Church. This is held on the fourth Sunday of each month from 4.30pm to about 6.30pm. Messy Church is for all ages and adults and children are encouraged to participate together. Each time we meet we have a theme that runs through the entire programme. We usually start with an activity such as craft activities or games. This is then followed by a time when we hear a Bible talk, and sing together. We then have dinner together. We don't charge people to attend Messy Church, but there is a box where you can make a donation, and some people like to bring food towards tea.
If you would like more information you're welcome to call us at the church on 9454 4626 or email the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may like to drop in during the week to get a feeling for what the building is like.
Our purpose as a church is to help people to live in relationship with Jesus and to learn to follow him. There are many ways that this can happen and includes worship, reading the Bible, prayer, and being actively involved in serving Jesus both in the church and the world. We would love you to join us our desire to be a church that is a representative for Jesus in our community.
